Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the InspiredTax mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
Non-Affiliation and Official Status
InspiredTax is an independently developed application. We are strictly not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected to the South African Revenue Service (SARS) or any government entity. The App is not an official tax submission tool and cannot be used to file returns via SARS eFiling.
Nature of the Service and Accuracy
InspiredTax provides calculators designed to assist users in estimating individual income tax, capital gains tax, provisional tax, and travel allowances based on South African tax frameworks.
- Estimations Only: All results generated by the App are purely estimates.
- No Tax Advice: The App does not provide professional tax, legal, or financial advice.
- No Guarantee of Accuracy: While we strive to base our algorithms on current tax legislation (such as the 2026/2027 assessment year parameters), tax laws are complex and subject to change. We do not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any calculations or outputs.
User Responsibility
You acknowledge that you use the App at your own risk. It is your sole responsibility to:
- Verify any calculations or estimates produced by the App with a qualified tax professional or directly against official SARS documentation before making financial decisions.
- Ensure the accuracy of the data you input into the App.
- Fulfill your legal obligations regarding tax declarations and submissions directly through official SARS channels.
Privacy and Data Storage
InspiredTax is built with privacy by design. The App operates fully offline and does not make network calls to transmit your financial data to external servers. Any financial or personal data you input remains stored locally on your device. Consequently, if you lose your device or uninstall the App without a backup, your data cannot be recovered by us.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable South African law, InspiredTax, its developers, and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the App. This includes, but is not limited to, financial loss, penalties, interest, or audits incurred due to reliance on the App's calculations.
Modifications to the App and Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part thereof) at any time without notice. We may also revise these Terms of Service periodically. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
